Plain English, and true: this page describes exactly what the site does, not more.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you, and nothing you type. The tests on this site compute your result on your own device; your answers are never sent anywhere, and the four-type test saves your runs only in your own browser's local storage. What does leave the page is a small anonymous count of what happened — described under Analytics below.

The Classroom Test, the Meeting Test and the Hiring Room Test send none of the event counts described below and store nothing. Your answers stay on your device. Cloudflare's anonymous page-view count still runs on them, as on every page.

If you choose to submit your email — the "stay in touch" box after a test, or a signup form anywhere else on the site — we collect that address, and for the four-type test, your result type and the room you tested in.

How your email is used

To send what the form you used promised. Wherever you signed up, that is the same thing: new tests as they go up, a note the day the book is out, what I am learning, and sometimes something I am selling.

No schedule and no newsletter — usually one email a month or less, occasionally a short run when something launches, then quiet again. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and leaving takes one click. We don't sell or share your email with anyone.

MailerLite, which sends the emails, records whether each one was opened and which links in it were clicked. That is how I see what is useful — including which of the “where will you use this?” links at the end of a letter you pick. Nothing else is tracked, and turning off images in your email app stops the open count.

Analytics

This site uses privacy-light analytics that don't use tracking cookies and don't follow you across other sites.

What that means concretely: we count anonymous events — that a test was started and finished, which room you chose, which result type came up, which cards were saved, whether a link was shared — along with which page on this site sent you there. Your slider answers are never sent anywhere, no email address is attached to any of these counts, and none of them identify you.

Separately, Cloudflare, which hosts this site, counts anonymous page views on every page, the way a host does for any website. It uses no cookies, never receives your answers, and records nothing that identifies you.

Cookies

This site doesn't set cookies beyond what our hosting provider, Cloudflare, requires to serve the pages.

Third parties

Two: MailerLite, who delivers our emails, and Cloudflare, who hosts this site and runs its analytics. Neither receives more than what's described above.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If what this site actually does changes, this page will be updated to match, dated below.
